T408 - Zeven Provincien L345 Custom Made

This is a museum-quality, fully assembled model of the Zeven Provinciën, carefully handcrafted using the traditional “plank-on-frame” construction method. Each model is built entirely from scratch by our master craftsmen, who spend more than 100 hours completing every detail with precision and care.

One of the most striking features of this model is the refined use of premium woods. Rosewood, mahogany, teak, and other carefully selected exotic woods are used throughout the model to highlight different parts of the ship and create a rich, authentic appearance. The replica also features impressive details such as metal cannons and anchors, an authentic crow’s nest, advanced rigging, neatly rolled sails, and a beautifully decorated stern. No plastic parts are used. The model comes fully assembled and is mounted on a solid wooden base with a metal nameplate, making it perfect for collectors and nautical enthusiasts.

History

De Zeven Provinciën was a Dutch ship of the line originally armed with 80 guns. Its name means “The Seven Provinces,” referring to the seven autonomous provinces that formed the Dutch Republic in the 17th century. The ship was built in 1664–1665 in Rotterdam for the Admiralty of the Maas by master shipbuilder Salomon Jansz van den Tempel.

The vessel took part in many major naval battles between 1666 and 1692. From 1666 to 1674, it served as the flagship of Admiral Michiel de Ruyter, one of the most respected naval commanders in Dutch history. In 1694, the Zeven Provinciën was decommissioned and later dismantled. In 2008, a modern reconstruction project of the famous ship was started.
