The history of COLUMBIA YACHT L Model Yacht

Imagine stepping back in time to the turn of the century and witnessing the majesty of the Columbia yacht racing through the waves, her sails billowing in the wind. This historic vessel was built in 1899 by Nathanael Herreshoff and the Herreshoff Manufacturing Company for the sole purpose of winning the prestigious Americas Cup races. Owned by J. Pierpont Morgan and Edwin Dennison Morgan of the New York Yacht Club, the Columbia was a masterpiece of naval engineering with a nickel steel frame, a tobin bronze hull, and a steel mast that was later replaced with one made of Oregon pine.

In 1899, Columbia won her first Americas Cup race against British challenger Shamrock, defending her title again in 1901 against Shamrock II. She was the first yacht to win the trophy twice in a row, cementing her place in maritime history as a true champion. Now, you can bring a piece of that history into your home with our stunning 39-inch long model ship replica of the Columbia.
